Save Your Relationship - Steps to Rekindling a Broken Relationship

Have you noticed the dynamic of your relationship with someone? There seems to be an inherent imbalance that you're not sure how to fix. The more time you spend arguing the less of a chance that you'll ever have to actually resolve what is bothering you or what needs to be changed in order for the relationship to grow. Here are some signs that your relationship could use an overhaul:

One of the most important reasons why relationships fail is because the partners never discuss their needs. They simply take one another for granted and don't take the time to listen to what one another really wants and needs from the relationship. As simple as this may seem it is an awful lot to ask of a partner, but if you can't communicate then you'll never truly learn what your partner is thinking or feeling.

Do you find yourself arguing over issues in your relationship every so often? If so, chances are your partner feels the same way about matters in the relationship. This creates resentment in both parties and soon the relationship suffers because of it. Take the time to truly communicate with each other about these key issues and you could see the relationship start to prosper.

If you and your partner no longer speak to each other, but you know they'll be talking to you in the near future, why not plan on spending at least a few hours apart? This will give you both a chance to see if the communication is as good as it originally was. It also gives you both time to re-establish what you originally started out with and see how well you can improve it. If your relationship has finally cooled down, then it's time to re-ignite it.

There may come a point in time when the both of you need a break. Whether that's due to work, kids, or just a lack of interest in the relationship, make sure you and your partner take some time apart. It doesn't matter how long you take off; just be sure you do it. Take up a new hobby, join a couples counseling class, or visit a therapist. Doing so will allow you to get back to the business of building a relationship once again.

Whether the two of you decide to get back together or separate, one thing is for certain. You will have more work to do if you want to make sure your relationship lasts. However, if you take the steps listed here and put them into action, you will have a much better chance of success.
